Stangard Design Solutions
Our client, needed to fit-out a catering facility within a temporary School building. The structure was not sufficiently strong to support the entire weight of the canopy and ductwork from the structural soffit.
Stangard also required a full ventilation system to integrate with the space restrictions imposed by the design of the temporary structure.
The final hurdle was to solve these issues within the tight budget that the school had available for the project, without compromise on functional performance or quality.

After much pre-contract site liaison with Stangard, HVAC designed, manufactured & installed, a full system comprising; canopies (from our newly Launched ZEPHYR range), ground-support frame (GSF), air plant, air distribution ductwork and controls – all to ventilate the new cooking island suite and wash-up areas. The ZEPHYR canopies incorporate our shallow profile technology, high-efficiency grease filters and LED lighting as standard. The site assembled and pre-engineered GSF was designed to transfer the canopy load to the floor below and was manufactured entirely from type 304 stainless steel, finished with a fine grain linished polish to match the canopy.
The Catering Manager at the newly opened site was extremely happy with the new canopy and ductwork. She told us:
“I have never worked with such a good extract system before. It clears the air of cooking fumes really quickly and quietly – even on low fan settings, and it looks bright and easy to clean into the bargain”.
